เกมส์ : You might be standing on a smallish stage yelling, “What’s the particular game?!”
“Win approximately you may!!!” comes roaring back.
“Who’s the cause of your score?!”
“I am!!”
The listeners consists of ninety men, all prisoners in a federal maximum security prison.
Something else – you’re a woman.
For 3 years, Alicia volunteered every Thursday at FCI (Federal Correctional Institute) in Bastrop, Texas-
“I used my skills for a corporate trainer to help these men learn how to shift their perspective on themselves as well as the world.”
“Along the fact that prisoners taught me equally as much, perhaps more, than I taught them.”
“In my training business, I prefer games as a way to breakdown barriers and shift perceptions. Some tips i reached realize that the behavior in a game is surely an exaggerated reflection of the behavior in real life.”
Games are an opening to behave true to our natures, to react immediately instead of having a careful response. Dependant upon the other players, natural meats monitor our behavior less in a game compared with the real world, but we are really not acting differently. In a very game you don’t see any emotional holds barred.
In a very game, we are allowed to be right brained than logical. All things considered, “It’s simply a game.”
Saying something is simply a game has a tendency to trivialize its importance. Precisely because we have seen becoming trivial, and also no importance, we will give ourselves permission to let our true natures out.
When we floated this concept before several colleagues, a few of them told us stories of self-discovery. One woman, an incredibly sweet and kind person in “real life”, was often known as “the enforcer” when she played hockey in college. Another shared that, when she plays an activity against total strangers she becomes “brutal” and highly competitive.
Therefore if our true nature is developed in a game, so what can we do with that information?
Will we transform situations to ensure we will be true to our nature? Will we make a game beyond real-world situations to allow for our true nature to flourish? The well known items example is always to view business for a game to be won. This suggests competition as well as a winner take all attitude.
Yet Covey and others have told us about producing win-win situations. Will there be this for a win-win game – an activity where everyone wins, where no person loses? Would you devise an activity where you can put your competitive streak toward a greater goal? Can the proverbial pie come in larger? As someone believed me, to transform from “me winning” to “we winning”.
